After a rather tough play, Farroeira's Ricardo Dias got a free kick in the 7th minute. Sandro Leiria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Dias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in SC Rouba's zone, Ricardo Dias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sandro Leiria came out of the goal and Ricardo Dias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Reis in the 15th minute of play forced Farroeira's goalkeeper Rafael Abreu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rafael Abreu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Reis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SC Rouba's André Reis got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cândido Luz kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Farroeira's Rui Gaspar got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SC Rouba's Sandro Leiria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Dias in the 28th minute of play. Rui Gaspar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 35 minutes into the match, Farroeira's goal looked a bit too open when André Reis came free, but Rafael Abreu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Farroeira's goalkeeper Rafael Abreu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Basílio Moura. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ricardo Dias was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of SC Rouba booed when Farroeira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cândido Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Farroeira getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Cândido Luz hit a great ball. In the 56th minute Ricardo Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandro Leiria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rui Gaspar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Sandro Leiria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Basílio Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 68 minutes, Sandro Leiria successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.
