If Oliveira Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leiao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oliveira Alves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Humberto Antunes notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Montalvao FC's Tiago Guarda. Tiago Guarda was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Lucas Torres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luís Rocha was relentless in the 48th minute of the game. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Tiago Guarda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leiao. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting.
