Pousios's Afonso Pinheiro got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Afonso Pinheiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Trindade having to interfere. The Pousios players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Tostao were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Afonso Pinheiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Joaquim Pires fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tostao's protests and gave Joaquim Pires a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 57 minutes, Daniel Borba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tostao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Borba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tostao's Afonso Trindade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Soares in the 60th minute of play. If Francisco Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Tostao's Manuel Setúbal got a free kick in the 64th minute. Tostao's Daniel Borba got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pousios's Eusébio Resende played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliveira Domingues in the 68th minute of play. Daniel Borba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Pousios's Joel Ramos got a free kick in the 70th minute. 72 minutes into the game, Afonso Pinheiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Afonso Trindade was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Francisco Soares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Afonso Trindade having to make a save. Afonso Trindade stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Afonso Pinheiro's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. Oliveira Domingues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. During the 87th minute of the match Armando Andrade completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Armando Andrade a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Tostao's Afonso Trindade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso Pinheiro in the 95th minute of play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
