SC Janelas's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. António Pinheiro kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. The audience held their breath when Amílcar Marques in the 20th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Sérgio Vale's left hand side. Cepos FC's Henrique Pinheiro suffered a sore thigh after 23 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 26th minute, Oliveira Cunha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alexandre Pedroso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 30 minutes, Cristiano Queirós mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Janelas and the Cepos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, SC Janelas's Cristiano Queirós got a free kick in the 30th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vítor Gonçalves during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cristiano Queirós recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alexandre Pedroso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Armando Vale read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Janelas's goalkeeper Sérgio Vale, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diogo Tavares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Cepos FC's Vítor Gonçalves got a free kick in the 56th minute. Armando Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristiano Queirós in the 57th minute of the match. Armando Vale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristiano Queirós, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristiano Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Vale having to interfere. Cristiano Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Armando Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Oliveira Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cepos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Oliveira Cunha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sérgio Vale breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Cepos FC's zone, Alexandre Pedroso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armando Vale came out of the goal and Alexandre Pedroso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fernando Aleixo during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Diogo Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Queirós in the 88th minute of play forced Cepos FC's goalkeeper Armando Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 95 minutes, Alexandre Pedroso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Janelas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Pedroso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 96th match minute, Cepos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vítor Gonçalves to maneuver through the defense. When Cristiano Queirós came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the SC Janelas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristiano Queirós couldn't finish the play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. SC Janelas fully deserved thier win.
