Jorge Tavares was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 8 minutes into the match. In the 7th minute, one of Palheira FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Palheira FC. 13 minutes into the match, Palheira FC's goal looked a bit too open when Simão Veiga came free, but Gaspar Nogueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th play minute Óscar Sousa came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Filipe Coimbra. 1-1. Marco Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filipe Coimbra having to interfere. Abel Faria blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gaspar Nogueira having to make a save. If Abel Faria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Calvos FC's Filipe Coimbra got control of the ball when Marco Cunha tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 36th minute, Simão Veiga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Calvos FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Filipe Coimbra made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Marco Cunha sent off a good shot on target. Raul Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 43 minutes of play, Calvos FC's Simão Veiga made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gaspar Nogueira was left in no man's land by his defense there! Marco Cunha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Filipe Coimbra made a huge save. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Simão Veiga was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Marco Cunha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Calvos FC's zone, Cláudio Porto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filipe Coimbra came out of the goal and Cláudio Porto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Palheira FC's Cláudio Porto got a free kick in the 55th minute. Jorge Gueifão, 56 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a rather tough play, Palheira FC's Sandro Pereira got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 59th minute, Raul Luz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 74 minutes into the game, Eusébio Torres was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Calvos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palheira FC the free kick. The supporters of Palheira FC booed when Calvos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusébio Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Palheira FC's goal looked a bit too open when Simão Veiga came free, but Gaspar Nogueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 77 minutes into the match, Calvos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Cunha came free, but Filipe Coimbra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raul Luz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gaspar Nogueira having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simão Veiga in the 89th minute of play forced Palheira FC's goalkeeper Gaspar Nogueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marco Cunha scored 2-3 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Filipe Coimbra, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With an all-out effort, Calvos FC's Gaspar Nogueira threw himself towards the right post 95 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Simão Veiga, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Calvos FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
