The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 9th match minute, Apulia FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Ferro to maneuver through the defense. Afonso Brás was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Júlio Araújo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 10 minute of play. João Amorim kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Apulia FC's zone, João Domingues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Afonso Brás came out of the goal and João Domingues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Bruno Santarém's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rui Miranda was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Bruno Ferro charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bruno Ferro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bruno Ferro kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Guerreiro in the 26th minute of play forced SC Lourinhal's goalkeeper Rui Miranda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Júlio Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Brás having to interfere. João Domingues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Brás having to interfere. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Apulia FC's goalkeeper Afonso Brás, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Júlio Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Brás having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Júlio Araújo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Afonso Brás was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. The supporters of SC Lourinhal booed when Apulia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 49 minutes, João Domingues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Lourinhal's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Domingues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Júlio Araújo was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Júlio Araújo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. João Domingues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Júlio Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Brás having to interfere. Amadeu Nogueira hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Fernando Guerreiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bruno Santarém's late challenge caught a SC Lourinhal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bruno Santarém helped the player get up and apologised. In the 79th minute, Oliveira Domingues sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Apulia FC's Afonso Brás didn't even have to move. If Júlio Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th match minute, Apulia FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vasco Marques to maneuver through the defense. Afonso Brás came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Lourinhal's Júlio Araújo. But to his dismay, Júlio Araújo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Júlio Araújo struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Afonso Brás didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Lourinhal. When the referee ended the match the SC Lourinhal players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
