The referee gave Guilhabreu a penalty, 8 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Domingos Mota, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ferreirinhos's Jorge Veiga. 0-1. Guilhabreu's Lucas Simões played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Gonçalves in the 11th minute of play. If Américo Bessa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Trindade recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guilhabreu's defense didn't have a chance, in the 22nd minute, when Ricardo Gonçalves scored to the left of an out of position Lucas Simões, making the score, 1-1. Pedro Trindade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32nd minute Ricardo Gonçalves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucas Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Guilhabreu getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Adelino Aguiar hit a great ball. Afonso Pereira charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 39th minute Américo Bessa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Veiga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Rogério Amaro fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ferreirinhos's protests and gave Rogério Amaro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 40th minute, Rogério Amaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Américo Bessa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Américo Bessa made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Ferreirinhos's zone, Américo Bessa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorge Veiga came out of the goal and Américo Bessa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedro Trindade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Lucas Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 64 minutes of play, Ferreirinhos's Pedro Trindade made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lucas Simões was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the Guilhabreu defense, Ricardo Gonçalves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lucas Simões. The Guilhabreu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lucas Simões should have stopped the shot. Ricardo Gonçalves hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Guilhabreu's Adelino Silva got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 80 minutes into the match, Guilhabreu's Américo Bessa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jorge Veiga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jorge Veiga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Américo Bessa in the 91st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ferreirinhos's Lourenço Leiria got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Ferreirinhos were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Guilhabreu for a fine match.
