If Francisco Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Meieiras FC's goalkeeper Vicente Marques, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Meieiras FC's zone, Hélder Soares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vicente Marques came out of the goal and Hélder Soares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hélder Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Marques having to interfere. Francisco Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. António Azevedo was extremely unlucky when he, in the 44th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Hélder Soares in the 55th minute of play forced Meieiras FC's goalkeeper Vicente Marques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Francisco Carvalho came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Meieiras FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Carvalho couldn't finish the play. António Azevedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vicente Marques read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Hélder Soares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vicente Marques was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. The SC Chamusca fans' excitement grew in the 66th match minute when SC Chamusca's Hélder Soares looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
