Vicente Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Anjos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Meieiras FC's goalkeeper Vicente Marques, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Francisco Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eduardo Carneiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Carvalho in the 16th minute of the match. Fernando Figueiredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Armindo Queirós's late challenge caught a Meieiras FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The referee gave Meieiras FC a penalty, 27 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by António Pacheco, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Balbeira FC's Eduardo Carneiro. 0-1. In the 33rd match minute, Balbeira FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armindo Queirós to maneuver through the defense. When Fernando Figueiredo came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Meieiras FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernando Figueiredo couldn't finish the play. In the 38th minute, Alfredo Garcia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Armindo Queirós hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Meieiras FC's goalkeeper Vicente Marques, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Balbeira FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Meieiras FC were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. José Anjos was the one to do the kick off. Fernando Figueiredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Francisco Carvalho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Fernando Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joaquim Lima hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Balbeira FC's Eduardo Carneiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Carvalho in the 90th minute of play. 96 minutes into the match, Francisco Carvalho dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Eduardo Carneiro, 0-2. Meieiras FC played a much better game than Balbeira FC and deserved their victory. The Balbeira FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
