Afonso Borges, 28 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When João Ramos fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Benfarras's protests and gave João Ramos a yellow card for diving instead. João Ramos kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cláudio Faria in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacinto Mota saved Benfarras from getting behind. After 68 minutes, Júlio Guerreiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Benfarras and the Manariz FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Manariz FC booed when Benfarras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Júlio Guerreiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jacinto Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cláudio Faria in the 70th minute of the match. A collision led to Benfarras getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. João Ramos hit a great ball. Jacinto Mota took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vítor Leão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rafael Baptista came out of the goal and Adelino Fonseca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adelino Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
