The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Xavier Brás had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hélder Vaz. Pevidal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Xavier Brás was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After taking down the ball on Pevidal's corner Sebastião Paiva fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Simão Resende quite easily take care of the ball. Xavier Brás fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélder Vaz having to interfere. In the 22nd minute, José Dantas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hélder Vaz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Xavier Brás in the 24th minute. 33 minutes into the game, Rogério Morais was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Armamar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pevidal the free kick. After a rather tough play, SC Armamar's Rogério Morais got a free kick in the 33rd minute. The referee ignored Pevidal's protests and gave Abel Baptista a yellow card for diving instead. Simão Resende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Assunção in the 41st minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 85th minute, SC Armamar's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after José Assunção fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Hélder Vaz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xavier Brás, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, José Dantas managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Armamar's supporters rose to their feet, but José Dantas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hélder Vaz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 95th minute, Diamantino Monteiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The SC Armamar fans cheered their team off the field, for while Pevidal had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
