Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling António Borba in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mário Gonçalves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Carneiro in the 15th minute of play forced Fetaes FC's goalkeeper Inácio Gonçalves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lombega FC's Mário Gonçalves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Lima in the 17th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, Fernando Alves notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Fetaes FC's Inácio Gonçalves. Inácio Gonçalves was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 34 minutes into the game, Fetaes FC's António Borba nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mário Gonçalves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Mário Gonçalves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Lima in the 38th minute of play. The audience was convinced that João Lima's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mário Gonçalves was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. 43 minutes into the match, Lombega FC's goal looked a bit too open when João Lima came free, but Mário Gonçalves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lombega FC's Mário Gonçalves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Lima in the 45th minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when António Borba made the kick off in the second half. Fernando Alves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Inácio Gonçalves having to make a save. Fetaes FC's António Borba got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Fetaes FC's zone, Fernando Alves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Inácio Gonçalves came out of the goal and Fernando Alves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Fetaes FC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. António Borba hit a great ball. In the 75th minute, Luís Maia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. João Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fetaes FC's João Lima got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. António Borba's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mário Gonçalves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when João Lima got free with Mário Gonçalves in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pedro Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Fetaes FC defense, Fernando Alves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Inácio Gonçalves. The Fetaes FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Inácio Gonçalves should have stopped the shot. Fetaes FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
