The supporters of Mondego FC booed when Macieiros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandro Aleixo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Américo Lisboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Óscar Esteves in the 25th minute of play. Raul Rodrigues hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 28th minute of the match Fernando Gonçalves sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Américo Lisboa skillfully saved the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Macieiros's zone, Óscar Esteves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Américo Lisboa came out of the goal and Óscar Esteves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Américo Lisboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Óscar Esteves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice moves Sérgio Machado could shoot a difficult shot in the 37th minute, which Américo Lisboa however easily saved by the left post. If Óscar Esteves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th match minute, Macieiros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandro Aleixo to maneuver through the defense.

Carlos Setúbal's late challenge caught a Macieiros's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos Setúbal helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 51st minute of the game. One of Mondego FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Macieiros:s goal. In the 53rd minute there was a penalty for Macieiros. In the 58th minute, Óscar Esteves ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Américo Lisboa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Eusébio Simões managed to get in a good position for a shot. Macieiros's supporters rose to their feet, but Eusébio Simões was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Viriato Matias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Delfim Faria charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Delfim Faria the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Américo Lisboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Óscar Esteves in the 86th minute of the match. In the 92nd minute, Óscar Esteves made a precise shot to the right of Américo Lisboa. Macieiros's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Mondego FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Macieiros for a fine match.
