After 8 played minutes Tiago Santarém rounded SC Saldanha's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. 11 minutes into the match, SC Empardeadas's Tiago Santarém sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ricardo Pires narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Filipe Matias stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carlos Bessa's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Filipe Matias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Bessa, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. When Raul Teixeira came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the SC Empardeadas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raul Teixeira couldn't finish the play. If Raul Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Empardeadas's Tiago Santarém got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lucas Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Raul Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute, SC Saldanha's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Raul Teixeira fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Raul Teixeira's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ricardo Pires firmly grabbed it by the left post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tiago Santarém to strike the kick off in the second half. If Lucas Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Simão Pinto during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 67th minute, Simão Pinto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SC Empardeadas's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Américo Lopes in the 69th minute. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Saldanha's goalkeeper Ricardo Pires, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to SC Saldanha getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Carlos Lima hit a great ball. When Lucas Fonseca came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the SC Saldanha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucas Fonseca couldn't finish the play. Lucas Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filipe Matias having to interfere. Lucas Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Filipe Matias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The SC Empardeadas fans cheered their team off the field, for while SC Saldanha had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
