The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Diogo Vaz during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. David Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Paulo Pacheco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute, Mário Guarda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Carregais FC's goalkeeper Luís Gonçalves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Carregais FC's David Andrade slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Paulo Pacheco. That made the score 1-0 after 26 minutes of play. David Andrade struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Paulo Pacheco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carregais FC. The audience thought a goal was coming when David Pedroso got free with Paulo Pacheco in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Carregais FC booed when SC Pontegaos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diogo Vaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carregais FC's Manuel Bessa couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 47th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for SC Pontegaos. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gabriel Oliveira was the one to do the kick off. In the 67th minute, David Andrade got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When David Pedroso came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Carregais FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Pedroso couldn't finish the play. Paulo Pacheco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Pedroso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manuel Amaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Luís Gonçalves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Pontegaos's Paulo Pacheco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Pedroso in the 91st minute of play. If Manuel Amaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gabriel Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Gonçalves having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
