Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Cobre's Lourenço Domingues started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alberto Teixeira in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bernardo Nunes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lúcio Luz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lourenço Domingues, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. The supporters of Marmelal booed when Cobre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Marmelal's Lourenço Cabral broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 22 minutes of play, Marmelal's Alberto Teixeira made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bernardo Nunes was left in no man's land by his defense there! 25 minutes into the match, Marmelal's goal looked a bit too open when Lourenço Domingues came free, but Lúcio Luz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Cobre's zone, Carlos Pinto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernardo Nunes came out of the goal and Carlos Pinto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carlos Pinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Bernardo Nunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lúcio Luz came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Cobre's João Correia. But to his dismay, João Correia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After 46 played minutes Cobre got a freekick which was hit by Nuno Garcia. When Alberto Teixeira came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Marmelal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Teixeira couldn't finish the play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The wind increased when Alberto Teixeira made the kick off in the second half. Lourenço Domingues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Lúcio Luz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tiago Matias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Bernardo Nunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Luz having to interfere. The supporters of Cobre booed when Marmelal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiago Matias didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lourenço Domingues in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lúcio Luz saved Marmelal from getting behind. Daniel Barros hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Alberto Teixeira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marmelal's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Teixeira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernardo Nunes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Domingos Amorim kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Carlos Pinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tiago Matias kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Lúcio Luz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lourenço Domingues went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. João Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Luz having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Cobre fans cheered their team off the field, for while Marmelal had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
