The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Oliveira Gonçalves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonso Esteves, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. In the 12th minute, Joaquim Ferro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ricardo Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Inácio Paiva came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the SC Lombos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Inácio Paiva couldn't finish the play. Oliveira Gonçalves was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Afonso Esteves showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 22 minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, SC Lombos's goalkeeper Oliveira Gonçalves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nuno Neto. Filipe Dantas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Oliveira Gonçalves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Oliveira Gonçalves made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Filipe Dantas sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Esteves in the 34th minute of play forced SC Lombos's goalkeeper Oliveira Gonçalves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Daniel Nunes fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Lombos's protests and gave Daniel Nunes a yellow card for diving instead. A hard shot by Américo Matias from long distance, 37 minutes into the match, got Oliveira Gonçalves's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After having played for 39 minutes, Afonso Esteves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pesqueiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonso Esteves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Ricardo Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 45 minutes, Ricardo Branco put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Eusébio Cardoso. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Inácio Paiva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, SC Lombos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Ribeiro to maneuver through the defense. Américo Matias might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Oliveira Gonçalves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Américo Matias ran back to his position shaking his head. If Inácio Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Pesqueiro's Joaquim Ferro got a free kick in the 60th minute. Joaquim Ferro hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Filipe Dantas struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Oliveira Gonçalves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pesqueiro. Eusébio Cardoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Inácio Paiva in the 76th minute of play. A collision led to SC Lombos getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. David Matias hit a great ball. Afonso Esteves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oliveira Gonçalves having to interfere. In the 86th play minute Ricardo Branco came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Eusébio Cardoso. 2-2. After 89 minutes, Nuno Neto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pesqueiro and the SC Lombos players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 89 played minutes Pesqueiro got a freekick which was hit by Nuno Neto. Filipe Dantas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
