After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Bento Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot. Novainho FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bento Andrade was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nuno Pacheco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 15 minutes into the game, Eduardo Moreira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Luís Gaspar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 19 minutes into the match, Novainho FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eduardo Moreira came free, but Luís Gaspar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Manuel Macedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Jolda FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Rogério Alves hit a great ball. Bento Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Manuel Macedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Jolda FC booed when Novainho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Henriques didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Manuel Macedo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Jolda FC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Paulo Teixeira hit a great ball. When Novainho FC's Manuel Macedo, in the 53rd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. Novainho FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 66th minute, when Simão Castro scored to the left of an out of position Luís Gaspar, making the score, 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Manuel Macedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Novainho FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Manuel Macedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. With a little luck, Novainho FC's Luís Gaspar got control of the ball when Eduardo Moreira tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 93rd minute Novainho FC were awarded a corner. Jolda FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
