Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when António Tavares got the match started through his kick off. Eusébio Lopes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Afonso Amaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rome's defense didn't have a chance, in the 9th minute, when António Tavares scored to the left of an out of position António Magalhães, making the score, 1-0. 18 minutes into the game, Paulo Leite was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rome's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Canaviais FC the free kick. Jaime Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 21st match minute, Rome was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vítor Queirós to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 23 minutes, Eusébio Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rome's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eusébio Lopes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Miguel Luz's late challenge caught a Canaviais FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Miguel Luz helped the player get up and apologised. After 24 played minutes Rome got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Luz. After 25 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Rome! António Magalhães had in the 27thth minute some difficulties stopping Daniel Branco's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Eusébio Lopes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Afonso Amaro. Canaviais FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eusébio Lopes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 36th minute Eusébio Lopes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Amaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vítor Queirós scored 1-2 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Afonso Amaro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 45 minutes into the match, Canaviais FC's goal looked a bit too open when Vítor Queirós came free, but Afonso Amaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vítor Queirós stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers António Tavares in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg António Magalhães saved Rome from getting behind. In the 56th minute, Jaime Almeida made a precise shot to the right of António Magalhães. Rome's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rome's goalkeeper António Magalhães, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Rome getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Paulo Leite hit a great ball. António Magalhães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from António Tavares in the 75th minute of the match. In the 76th match minute, Rome was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Leite to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute of the match, Vítor Queirós tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Afonso Amaro saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Vítor Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Amaro having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, Sebastião Freitas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Canaviais FC's Afonso Amaro got control of the ball when Eusébio Lopes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eusébio Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
