Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when João Leal kicked off to start the match. Carpinteiras's Rodrigo Teixeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Costa in the 12th minute of play. 15 minutes into the game, Marco Costa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rodrigo Teixeira. Marco Costa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. 17 minutes into the game, Sebastião Tavares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Manariz FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carpinteiras the free kick. After a rather tough play, Manariz FC's Sebastião Tavares got a free kick in the 18th minute. Fernando Viana stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manuel Amaro's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. If Sérgio Delgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carpinteiras's defense didn't have a chance, in the 22nd minute, when Sérgio Delgado scored to the left of an out of position Rodrigo Teixeira, making the score, 2-1. Sérgio Delgado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marco Costa made a kick off. Rodrigo Teixeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Manuel Monteiro fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Carpinteiras's protests and gave Manuel Monteiro a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Carpinteiras's Manuel Monteiro got a free kick in the 53rd minute. When Manuel Monteiro was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 55 minutes had been played. The supporters of Manariz FC booed when Carpinteiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Monteiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After taking down the ball on Manariz FC's corner Xavier Costa fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rodrigo Teixeira quite easily take care of the ball. Rodrigo Teixeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sérgio Delgado in the 60th minute of the match. José Silva charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed José Silva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 68th match minute, Carpinteiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Silva to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th minute, Sérgio Delgado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rodrigo Teixeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sérgio Delgado in the 84th minute of the match. Manuel Amaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 88th minute, Manuel Amaro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fernando Viana was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. After a defensive mix-up in Manariz FC's zone, Manuel Amaro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernando Viana came out of the goal and Manuel Amaro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fernando Trindade could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Fernando Viana made a huge save. Manuel Amaro might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fernando Viana. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Manuel Amaro ran back to his position shaking his head.
