After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Vítor Leite managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Gomide's supporters rose to their feet, but Vítor Leite was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. André Cunha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inácio Setúbal in the 15th minute of play forced SC Gomide's goalkeeper David Alves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SC Gomide's David Alves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Inácio Setúbal in the 17th minute of play. Vítor Leite who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 22ndth minute tested the skills of André Cunha when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of SC Vidigueira booed when SC Gomide was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Assunção didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vítor Leite in the 34thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of André Cunha, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. SC Gomide were awarded a corner in the 40th minute after SC Vidigueira's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mário Coimbra took the corner. The corner led SC Gomide's Mário Coimbra to fire away a dangerous shot which André Cunha despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. David Alves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inácio Setúbal in the 46th minute of the match. Vítor Leite could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but André Cunha made a huge save. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Gonçalo Nascimento made the kick off in the second half. In the 98th minute of the match Mário Coimbra sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but André Cunha skillfully saved the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the SC Vidigueira players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SC Gomide.
