Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Valpassos's Adolfo Freitas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugo Castro in the 5th minute of play. In the 6th minute Nuno Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emílio Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nuno Reis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Magalhães having to interfere. Emílio Azevedo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but João Magalhães made a huge save. Alexandre Neves hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Nuno Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. João Magalhães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 31 minutes into the game, SC Biogal's Hugo Castro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adolfo Freitas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Afonso Santarém had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of SC Biogal booed when Valpassos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Antunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. João Magalhães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nuno Reis in the 41st minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
After 52 minutes, João Mendes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Valpassos and the SC Biogal players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of SC Biogal booed when Valpassos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Mendes didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Afonso Santarém had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 58 minutes into the match, Hugo Castro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adolfo Freitas. Valpassos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hugo Castro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Emílio Azevedo hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Santarém in the 62nd minute of play forced Valpassos's goalkeeper Adolfo Freitas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 64 minutes, Nuno Reis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Valpassos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nuno Reis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nuno Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nuno Reis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 78 minutes, Alexandre Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Biogal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Neves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 83rd minute Afonso Santarém shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adolfo Freitas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nuno Reis in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck João Magalhães prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Afonso Santarém received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Adolfo Freitas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Afonso Santarém struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Adolfo Freitas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Biogal. 95 minutes into the game, Alexandre Neves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Biogal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Valpassos the free kick. In the 95th match minute, SC Biogal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexandre Neves to maneuver through the defense. The SC Biogal supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SC Biogal would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
