After a rather tough play, Marreiros FC's António Borba got a free kick in the 2nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sérgio Simões during the 8th minute. Joaquim Lisboa might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Afonso Veiga. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joaquim Lisboa ran back to his position shaking his head. Heitor Bessa's late challenge caught a Olaia FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Heitor Bessa helped the player get up and apologised. Heitor Bessa hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. A collision led to Marreiros FC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Joaquim Lisboa hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Rodrigues in the 45th minute of play forced Olaia FC's goalkeeper Afonso Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eusébio Gonçalves made a kick off. Sérgio Simões was shown his second yellow card after 50 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. With a left leg Afonso Veiga saved Olaia FC from getting behind. 56 minutes into the match, Afonso Rodrigues had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Afonso Veiga. Olaia FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Afonso Rodrigues was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Paulo Neto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Diogo Gaspar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Afonso Veiga stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Afonso Rodrigues's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Joaquim Lisboa struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Afonso Veiga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marreiros FC. In the 79th minute Joaquim Lisboa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Veiga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
