After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Alfredo Dantas managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Galaxes's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfredo Dantas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mariano Simões breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alfredo Dantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mariano Simões having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristiano Nunes in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mariano Simões saved Momprole from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Cristiano Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Galaxes's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristiano Nunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mariano Simões breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 15th match minute, SC Galaxes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Dantas to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of SC Galaxes booed when Momprole was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucas Faria didn't get a good kick on the ball. SC Galaxes's Sandro Viegas shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 17th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Mariano Simões but with some difficulty. Mariano Simões showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristiano Nunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. After 22 played minutes SC Galaxes got a freekick which was hit by Mário Faria. 29 minutes into the match, SC Galaxes's Alfredo Dantas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mariano Simões narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mariano Simões was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alfredo Dantas showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 31 minute of play. Joaquim Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gil Setúbal in the 42nd minute of play. Joel Pedroso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joaquim Amorim having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristiano Nunes got free with Mariano Simões in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Mariano Simões showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristiano Nunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. The referee showed Cristóvão Leite the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 63 minutes into the game, one of SC Galaxes:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 70 minutes into the match, SC Galaxes's Alfredo Dantas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mariano Simões narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Momprole's Mariano Simões played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Nunes in the 84th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in SC Galaxes's zone, Gil Setúbal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquim Amorim came out of the goal and Gil Setúbal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpected shot in the 96th minute by Joel Pedroso got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 98 minutes, Joel Pedroso made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. SC Galaxes's Joaquim Amorim tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The Momprole players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
