Júlio Moniz was extremely unlucky when he, in the 20th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 21 minutes, Amílcar Neves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Melga and the SC Romeu players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 22nd minute, Amílcar Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Júlio Moniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th match minute, Melga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Catarino Fernandes to maneuver through the defense. Augusto Morais kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Melga's Cristiano Pinho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Melga from getting a goal against them. Manuel Aleixo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cristiano Pinho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. If Manuel Aleixo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Melga's Cristiano Pinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júlio Moniz in the 43rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júlio Moniz in the 45th minute of play forced Melga's goalkeeper Cristiano Pinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jorge Neves to make the kick off. Jorge Neves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Inácio Sousa having to make a save. Inácio Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Delgado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SC Romeu's Inácio Sousa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save SC Romeu from getting a goal against them. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Melga's goalkeeper Cristiano Pinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Júlio Moniz struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Cristiano Pinho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Romeu. After a defensive mix-up in Melga's zone, Manuel Aleixo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristiano Pinho came out of the goal and Manuel Aleixo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 78 minutes, Hugo Delgado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Melga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hugo Delgado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 83 minutes into the match, SC Romeu's goalkeeper Inácio Sousa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hugo Delgado. With his leg Inácio Sousa managed to avoid a goal in the 85thth minute, when Melga's Hugo Delgado fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Amílcar Neves was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 86 minutes had been played. Amílcar Neves kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Melga's zone, Manuel Aleixo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristiano Pinho came out of the goal and Manuel Aleixo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristiano Pinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júlio Moniz, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Júlio Moniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristiano Pinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Júlio Moniz in the 95th minute of the match. Melga's Hugo Delgado got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Melga's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
