SC Cercadas's Miguel Gaspar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save SC Cercadas from getting a goal against them. In the 22nd minute, Hélder Garcia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jorge Aleixo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. SC Cercadas's Miguel Gaspar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Gueifão in the 31st minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hélder Garcia was the one to do the kick off. After 57 played minutes SC Cercadas got a freekick which was hit by João Rocha. José Gueifão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Gaspar having to interfere. Miguel Gaspar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Gueifão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 68 minutes into the game, João Rocha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Cercadas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sanhoane FC the free kick. After 68 played minutes SC Cercadas got a freekick which was hit by João Rocha. In the 70th match minute, SC Cercadas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Amaral to maneuver through the defense. If Hélder Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 79th minute José Gueifão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Gaspar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. José Gueifão succeeded in the game's 80th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
