The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Diogo Leiria's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paulo Garcia was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armindo Tavares got free with António Pedroso in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 8th minute of the match, Raul Cruz tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but António Pedroso saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Junto FC's Bruno Almeida got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SC Lanheses's Paulo Garcia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Almeida in the 15th minute of play. Raul Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 19 minutes into the match, Junto FC's goalkeeper António Pedroso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Armindo Tavares. Junto FC's António Pedroso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Junto FC from getting a goal against them. SC Lanheses's Paulo Garcia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Almeida in the 22nd minute of play. In the 29th minute of the match, Manuel Pereira sent away a good long shot that could have become a goal, but António Pedroso showed an example of his skillful tending and made the save just under the crossbar. Bruno Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Garcia having to interfere. If Bruno Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raul Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. António Pedroso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulo Garcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diogo Leiria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bruno Almeida to make the kick off. In the 56th minute Armindo Tavares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Pedroso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SC Lanheses's Paulo Garcia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Almeida in the 60th minute of play. António Pedroso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armindo Tavares in the 64th minute of play. In the 67th minute Raul Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Pedroso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Diogo Leiria could shoot a difficult shot in the 84th minute, which Paulo Garcia however easily saved by the left post. SC Lanheses's Paulo Garcia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Almeida in the 86th minute of play. Bruno Almeida took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paulo Garcia. Paulo Garcia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Lanheses's goalkeeper Paulo Garcia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Armindo Tavares struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. António Pedroso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Lanheses. The Junto FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
