After 32 minutes of play Pocos FC's Vasco Pinheiro was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Pocos FC's Vasco Pinheiro got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Cláudio Delgado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Pinto having to interfere. The supporters of Seixos FC booed when Pocos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Alves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Augusto Brito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Vieira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute Simão Gomes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Augusto Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Pocos FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Joaquim Assunção hit a great ball. Vítor Miranda's late challenge caught a Pocos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vítor Miranda helped the player get up and apologised. David Moura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Manuel Pinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jorge Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Augusto Brito made an important save on a dangerous shot by Simão Gomes in the 75th minute.
