Sandro Mendes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Vítor Guarda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lourenço Torres in the 14th minute of the match. In the 18th minute, Oliveira Matias ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vítor Guarda was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Alfredo Pedroso walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Sandro Mendes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Rocha in the 31st minute of play. Alberto Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Sandro Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Lourenço Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vasco Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of SC Vermoeiros booed when Tagarro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Borges didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vasco Sousa who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 44thth minute tested the skills of Sandro Mendes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Oliveira Matias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 47th minute of the game. One of SC Vermoeiros:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tagarro:s goal. In the 49th minute there was a penalty for Tagarro. Alfredo Pedroso stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Vítor Guarda. 0-2. The SC Vermoeiros players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Tagarro were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Oliveira Matias was the one to do the kick off. If Vasco Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tagarro's Oliveira Matias got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lourenço Torres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Vítor Guarda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Tagarro's Vítor Guarda threw himself towards the right post 72 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Oliveira Matias, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 77th minute of the match Alfredo Pedroso sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vítor Guarda skillfully saved the ball. Oliveira Matias blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vítor Guarda having to make a save. Oliveira Matias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vítor Guarda having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, Lourenço Torres dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Vítor Guarda, 0-3. Tagarro's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
