Nuno Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Aguiar having to interfere. 27 minutes into the game, Salsas's Nuno Queirós nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ricardo Aguiar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. When Miguel Vaz came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Salsas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Miguel Vaz couldn't finish the play. 37 minutes into the match, Adao FC's Rafael Pinto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bernardo Brito narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 40 minutes, Rafael Pinto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Adao FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafael Pinto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Salsas's goalkeeper Bernardo Brito, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Miguel Vaz might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardo Aguiar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Miguel Vaz ran back to his position shaking his head. Ricardo Aguiar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nuno Queirós in the 45th minute of the match. Miguel Vaz might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardo Aguiar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Miguel Vaz ran back to his position shaking his head. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rafael Pinto was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Salsas getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Tomás Queirós hit a great ball. After 55 minutes, Humberto Campos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Adao FC and the Salsas players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 55 played minutes Adao FC got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Campos. Nuno Queirós recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adao FC's Ricardo Aguiar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Queirós in the 68th minute of play. Miguel Vaz struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Ricardo Aguiar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Salsas. Miguel Vaz might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardo Aguiar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Miguel Vaz ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 83rd minute, Salsas's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Alberto Carvalho fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Ricardo Aguiar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nuno Queirós in the 85th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Nuno Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot. Salsas's supporters rose to their feet, but Nuno Queirós was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Aguiar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Humberto Campos hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. There was no doubt that Salsas were the better team. Salsas's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
