Tiago Castro's late challenge caught a Covao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tiago Castro helped the player get up and apologised. In the 3rd minute, Tiago Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Covao's André Campos got a free kick in the 7th minute. In the 12th match minute, Freitas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiago Castro to maneuver through the defense. Lourenço Martins hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Augusto Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Moniz having to interfere. Augusto Branco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Dantas in the 29th minute of play forced Freitas FC's goalkeeper João Moniz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lourenço Martins struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. António Pinto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Freitas FC. After a defensive mix-up in Freitas FC's zone, Augusto Branco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Moniz came out of the goal and Augusto Branco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Augusto Branco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Covao's supporters rose to their feet, but Augusto Branco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Moniz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. João Moniz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Branco in the 56th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Freitas FC's zone, Augusto Branco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Moniz came out of the goal and Augusto Branco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Freitas FC's João Moniz got control of the ball when Emanuel Dantas tried to sneak it across the goal line. João Moniz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augusto Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. When Augusto Branco came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Covao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augusto Branco couldn't finish the play. Lourenço Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. António Pinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Artur Barros might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over António Pinto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Artur Barros ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 76th minute, Freitas FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Augusto Branco fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. With an all-out effort, Covao's João Moniz threw himself towards the right post 78 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Augusto Branco, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Emanuel Dantass short, quick shot in the 79thth minute got João Moniz to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. João Moniz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emanuel Dantas in the 81st minute. When Covao's Augusto Branco in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Freitas FC's goalie prevented a goal. Emanuel Dantas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. João Moniz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vicente Melo charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vicente Melo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Covao were awarded a corner in the 92th minute after Freitas FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Eusébio Matias took the corner. Lourenço Martins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The Freitas FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Covao's performance. The match ended with a win for Covao.
