The audience held their breath when Eusébio Moura in the 10th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Ricardo Gonçalves's left hand side. When Alfredo Coimbra fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cerejeiras FC's protests and gave Alfredo Coimbra a yellow card for diving instead. After 15 played minutes Cerejeiras FC got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Coimbra. After a defensive mix-up in Cerejeiras FC's zone, Tomás Mendes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gabriel Leão came out of the goal and Tomás Mendes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 20 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SC Herdade! When the match had been going on for 22 minutes, Cerejeiras FC's Pedro Borba got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Ricardo Gonçalves. Eusébio Moura kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Tomás Mendes took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gabriel Leão. Gabriel Leão dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Ricardo Gonçalves stood somewhat misplaced when Cristiano Paiva came free in front of goal and shot 2-1 to the left of him in the 35 minute. Gabriel Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The wind increased when Cristiano Paiva made the kick off in the second half. If Cristiano Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomás Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cerejeiras FC's Gabriel Leão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Cerejeiras FC from getting a goal against them. Tomás Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Leão having to interfere. A collision led to Cerejeiras FC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Sandro Jesus hit a great ball. SC Herdade's Ricardo Gonçalves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Paiva in the 79th minute of play. During the 81st minute of the match Alfredo Coimbra completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Alfredo Coimbra a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Pedro Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ricardo Gonçalves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Castro in the 88th minute of play forced SC Herdade's goalkeeper Ricardo Gonçalves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Cunha got free with Gabriel Leão in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
