When Carlos Leiria fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Marques FC's protests and gave Carlos Leiria a yellow card for diving instead. In the 15th match minute, Marques FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Leiria to maneuver through the defense. In the 17th minute, Inácio Bessa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Manuel Trindade struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Pedro Vieira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Picote. The Marques FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Vieira should have stopped the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
