In the 3rd match minute, Cubalhao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cândido Luz to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Alegrete FC's Emílio Ribeiro tried to score from far away in the 4th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Afonso Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Paiva having to interfere. Vasco Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Delfim Branco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 18 minutes into the game, one of Cubalhao:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 20th minute there was a penalty for Alegrete FC. Emílio Ribeiro stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving David Paiva. 0-1. Ricardo Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Paiva having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, André Gomes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cubalhao's supporters rose to their feet, but André Gomes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nuno Aleixo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Alegrete FC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Vasco Barros hit a great ball. Rui Morais charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rui Morais the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 29th minute, Rui Morais hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. David Paiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Araújo in the 31st minute of the match. If Afonso Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vasco Barros in the 36th minute of play forced Cubalhao's goalkeeper David Paiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Delfim Branco struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Nuno Aleixo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cubalhao. If André Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 48th minute of the match, Delfim Branco got a very nice opportunity to score, but Nuno Aleixo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Afonso Andrade in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David Paiva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Andrade in the 56th minute of play forced Cubalhao's goalkeeper David Paiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. André Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Aleixo having to interfere. After 62 played minutes Cubalhao got a freekick which was hit by Gaspar Bessa. Afonso Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lúcio Freitas hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. 68 minutes into the match, Afonso Andrade dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of David Paiva, 0-2. Cubalhao's Delfim Branco got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ricardo Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. David Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lúcio Freitas hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match.
