Tiago Lopes hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, SC Coimbro's Paulo Neves got a free kick in the 13th minute. Bernardo Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Nuno Aleixo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 19 played minutes Alegrete FC got a freekick which was hit by Vasco Barros. After some careless play in the Alegrete FC defense, Bernardo Baptista kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nuno Aleixo. The Alegrete FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nuno Aleixo should have stopped the shot. A collision led to SC Coimbro getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Alfredo Mota hit a great ball. 23 minutes into the match, SC Coimbro's goalkeeper João Setúbal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ricardo Araújo. Tiago Lopes kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. In the 39th minute Emílio Ribeiro managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. Bruno Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Nuno Aleixo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sérgio Garcia in the 59th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 61 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Afonso Andrade sped through SC Coimbro's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of João Setúbal. 64 minutes into the match, SC Coimbro's goal looked a bit too open when Afonso Andrade came free, but João Setúbal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, SC Coimbro's Bruno Castro got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 69th minute, Vítor Leiria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricardo Araújo struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. João Setúbal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alegrete FC. A collision led to SC Coimbro getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Xavier Guarda hit a great ball. In the 75th minute, Paulo Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricardo Araújo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 84 minutes, Paulo Neves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Coimbro and the Alegrete FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Paulo Neves kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bruno Castro during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, SC Coimbro's Bruno Castro got a free kick in the 90th minute. SC Coimbro's João Setúbal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso Andrade in the 91st minute of play. Ricardo Araújo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Afonso Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. João Setúbal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 96 minutes of play, Alegrete FC's Ricardo Araújo made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. João Setúbal was left in no man's land by his defense there!
