Adelino Viana scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bernardo Nunes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Álvaro Porto kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Adelino Viana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 18 minutes, Eduardo Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sopegal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eduardo Queirós was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sopegal's Eduardo Queirós got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlos Figueiredo during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Vicente Assis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Reguenga FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vicente Assis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernardo Nunes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Adelino Viana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bernardo Nunes having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Sopegal's Tomás Trindade got a free kick in the 34th minute. Delfim Vieira was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 35th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 37th minute, Vicente Assis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bernardo Nunes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After some careless play in the Sopegal defense, Adelino Viana kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bernardo Nunes. The Sopegal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bernardo Nunes should have stopped the shot. 48 minutes into the game, Amadeu Matias was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sopegal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Reguenga FC the free kick. In the 48th minute, Amadeu Matias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adelino Viana in the 50th minute of play forced Sopegal's goalkeeper Bernardo Nunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lourenço Valente was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Álvaro Porto during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Sopegal booed when Reguenga FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Álvaro Porto didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 66th minute of the match Sopegal got a corner. Reguenga FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. André Luz ran over to the corner to take the kick. Adelino Viana struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Bernardo Nunes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Reguenga FC. Tomás Trindade hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Delfim Vieira succeeded in the game's 80th minute to get real power on a long shot . Sopegal's Bernardo Nunes hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 0-4! 86 minutes into the game, Adelino Viana was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Reguenga FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sopegal the free kick. In the 86th match minute, Reguenga FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adelino Viana to maneuver through the defense. 91 minutes into the match, Sopegal's goal looked a bit too open when Adelino Viana came free, but Bernardo Nunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Vicente Assis came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Reguenga FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vicente Assis couldn't finish the play. The Sopegal fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Reguenga FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
