The crowd rose to their feet as Escapaes's Alexandre Barros slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Carlos Leiria. That made the score 1-0 after 14 minutes of play. After 25 minutes, Pedro Garcia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Escapaes and the SC Avessadas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Escapaes's Rui Sá played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Aleixo in the 26th minute of play. Carlos Leiria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandre Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. When Pedro Garcia was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 30 minutes had been played. Sandro Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 36 minutes, Gonçalo Coelho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Avessadas and the Escapaes players grew even worse after the yellow card. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rafael Amorim stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alfredo Mota hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Rui Sá made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Amorim in the 87th minute of play. Rafael Amorim blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rui Sá having to make a save.
