In a very dangerous position, a player in Barrocas fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 5th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, João Esteves, was totally fooled by Mealhada's André Figueiredo, who 7 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When Mealhada's Júlio Delgado in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Barrocas's goalie prevented a goal. 17 minutes into the match, Barrocas's goal looked a bit too open when Júlio Delgado came free, but João Esteves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If André Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Leite, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaspar Resende in the 29th minute of play forced Mealhada's goalkeeper Pedro Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Alexandre Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 35 minutes, Alexandre Leite managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barrocas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Leite was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 44 minutes into the game, Júlio Delgado recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of João Esteves. Júlio Delgado showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Júlio Delgado to make the kick off. André Cunha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 61st minute Júlio Delgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Esteves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Alexandre Leite came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Barrocas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandre Leite couldn't finish the play. Pedro Neves made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Alexandre Leite sent off a good shot on target. Alexandre Leite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Neves having to interfere. In the 67th minute, Oliveira Dantas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 69 in the game by Alexandre Leite from a close distance when the talented Pedro Neves managed to make a qualified save. Mealhada's players were relieved. 73 minutes into the match, Barrocas's goal looked a bit too open when André Cunha came free, but João Esteves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 79th minute of the match André Figueiredo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but João Esteves showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. João Esteves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júlio Delgado in the 82nd minute of play. A collision led to Barrocas getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Augusto Vale hit a great ball. If Gaspar Resende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Augusto Aleixo charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Augusto Aleixo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 87th minute, Augusto Aleixo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 97 minutes, Alexandre Leite managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barrocas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Leite was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Mealhada fans cheered their team off the field, for while Barrocas had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
