The referee ignored Carramanha's protests and gave Pedro Leal a yellow card for diving instead. In the 2nd minute, Pedro Leal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jorge Pacheco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Fernando Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 14 minutes, Xavier Sá mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lama FC and the Carramanha players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Carramanha's Vicente Paiva got a free kick in the 16th minute. When António Carvalho came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Lama FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that António Carvalho couldn't finish the play. In the 18th minute, António Carvalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Delfim Assunção sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 23 minutes into the match, Lama FC's Delfim Assunção sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alexandre Bessa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Delfim Assunção fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Bessa having to interfere. With a little luck, Carramanha's Alexandre Bessa got control of the ball when Delfim Assunção tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Lama FC booed when Carramanha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amadeu Correia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when António Carvalho made the kick off in the second half. Delfim Assunção received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Alexandre Bessa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. António Carvalho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alexandre Bessa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. The supporters of Lama FC booed when Carramanha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amadeu Correia didn't get a good kick on the ball. 65 minutes into the game, Alberto Faro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lama FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carramanha the free kick.
