The supporters of SC Taveira booed when SC Montazel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henrique Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, SC Taveira's Américo Esteves tried to score from far away in the 10th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Rui Barros didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jorge Matos went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 18th match minute, SC Taveira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaspar Barros to maneuver through the defense. If Amílcar Guerreiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, SC Taveira's Pedro Neves got control of the ball when Xavier Anjos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Xavier Anjos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Pedro Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Xavier Anjos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Pedro Neves made a huge save. 29 minutes into the match, Henrique Aleixo notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of SC Montazel's Rui Barros. Rui Barros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Xavier Anjos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Amílcar Guerreiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Montazel's supporters rose to their feet, but Amílcar Guerreiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Neves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 51st minute of the match, Jorge Matos tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rui Barros saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 56th minute, Jorge Matos reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rui Barros. The goal made the score 0-3. Xavier Anjos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rui Barros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Matos in the 62nd minute of the match. SC Taveira's Henrique Aleixo got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cristiano Torres hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice moves Henrique Aleixo could shoot a difficult shot in the 67th minute, which Rui Barros however easily saved by the left post. SC Taveira's Henrique Aleixo got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Henrique Aleixo got free with Rui Barros in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. SC Taveira's Jorge Matos got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SC Taveira's Jorge Matos was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 82nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 94 minutes into the match, SC Montazel's Xavier Anjos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Neves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. SC Taveira walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
