Paulo Faro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Barros in the 8th minute of the match. José Moniz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Paulo Faro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Moniz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Faro having to interfere. Carlos Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Gueifão having to interfere. David Gueifão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rui Miranda in the 24th minute. A collision led to Sonhim getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Mariano Barros hit a great ball. In the 27th minute, Henrique Assunção hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SC Monteiras's Alexandre Garcia couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 28th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Sonhim. David Gueifão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carlos Baptista's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Carlos Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Monteiras's goalkeeper Paulo Faro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Paulo Faro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardo Amaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th match minute, Sonhim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Esteves to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Bernardo Amaro made the kick off in the second half. Humberto Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. David Gueifão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Sonhim getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Henrique Assunção hit a great ball. With a little luck, SC Monteiras's Paulo Faro got control of the ball when José Moniz tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 74thth minute of the game Carlos Baptista who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sonhim's David Gueifão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Mariano Barros fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sonhim's protests and gave Mariano Barros a yellow card for diving instead. In the 77th minute, José Moniz fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After having played for 79 minutes, Bernardo Amaro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sonhim's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernardo Amaro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 82 minutes into the match, Carlos Baptista had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of David Gueifão. Sonhim's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlos Baptista was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Carlos Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st minute, Humberto Amorim left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Monteiras fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The SC Monteiras fans cheered their team off the field, for while Sonhim had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
