Tomás Matos came out of the goal and David Tavares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Afonso Campos charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Afonso Campos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Frutuaria getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Afonso Campos hit a great ball. Nuno Moniz struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Pedro Neves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gamacha. In the 24th minute Nuno Moniz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mário Vaz in the 34th minute of play forced Frutuaria's goalkeeper Pedro Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nuno Moniz in the 36th minute of the match. After 42 played minutes Gamacha got a freekick which was hit by Diogo Queirós.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when David Tavares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tomás Matos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Viriato Paredes went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After having played for 59 minutes, David Tavares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Frutuaria's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Tavares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 63 minutes in the game, Nuno Moniz fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Pedro Neves having to interfere. In the 74th minute Viriato Paredes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Matos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nuno Moniz in the 81st minute of play. Mário Vaz might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Neves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mário Vaz ran back to his position shaking his head. Nuno Queirós hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Gamacha walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
