Sebastião Tavares in the 15thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Catarino Viegas, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulo Miranda during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 20 played minutes SC Faria got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Miranda. If João Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute, Fábio Antunes fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Catarino Viegas, passed just outside the right post. Sebastião Tavares who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 25thth minute tested the skills of Catarino Viegas when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Sebastião Tavares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fábio Antunes in the 29th minute of play forced SC Faria's goalkeeper Catarino Viegas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot 30 in the game by Sebastião Tavares from a close distance when the talented Catarino Viegas managed to make a qualified save. SC Faria's players were relieved. João Amaral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Cristiano Pinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gustavo Bessa during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. SC Faria's Adolfo Moura got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Vasco Barros's late challenge caught a SC Faria's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vasco Barros helped the player get up and apologised. Vasco Barros hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Adolfo Moura scored 0-1 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cristiano Pinho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Faria's goalkeeper Catarino Viegas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fábio Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Catarino Viegas having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Sebastião Tavares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Contenda FC's Cristiano Pinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Amaral in the 95th minute of play. The Contenda FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching SC Faria's performance. The match ended with a win for SC Faria.
