The Carotes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristiano Guerreiro should have stopped the shot. 24 minutes into the match, Carotes's goalkeeper Cristiano Guerreiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Guerreiro. In the 30th minute, Armando Matias ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. António Porto was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After a rather tough play, Guarda's Rodrigo Azevedo got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After 34 minutes of play, Carotes's Álvaro Reis made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. António Porto was left in no man's land by his defense there! António Porto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Álvaro Reis in the 42nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Pereira in the 44th minute of play forced Guarda's goalkeeper António Porto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The wind increased when Luís Pereira made the kick off in the second half. When Luís Pereira came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Carotes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Pereira couldn't finish the play. After 75 minutes, Vicente Henriques mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guarda and the Carotes players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Guarda's Vicente Henriques got a free kick in the 75th minute. Paulo Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th minute Luís Pereira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Porto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 90 minutes, Adolfo Matos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guarda and the Carotes players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 90 played minutes Guarda got a freekick which was hit by Adolfo Matos. In the 91st minute, Carotes's Luís Pereira dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. The Guarda supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Carotes's performance. The match ended with a win for Carotes.
