With a little luck, SC Bucaco's Artur Branco got control of the ball when Adelino Baptista tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Fernando Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Azevedo in the 6th minute of play forced Castanhos FC's goalkeeper Rui Dantas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th minute Gabriel Vieira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur Branco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 10th match minute, SC Bucaco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Artur Guerreiro to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Castanhos FC's Filipe Vale got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 13th minute, Raul Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 14 played minutes, SC Bucaco's Sérgio Oliveira shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rui Dantas came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Bucaco reached it. Rui Dantas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Humberto Azevedo's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Humberto Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 29 minutes into the match, SC Bucaco's Humberto Azevedo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rui Dantas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 32 minutes into the match, SC Bucaco's goalkeeper Artur Branco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adelino Baptista. 33 minutes into the game, Filipe Viegas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Bucaco's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Castanhos FC the free kick. Filipe Viegas hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Gabriel Vieira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artur Branco having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, Castanhos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Azevedo came free, but Rui Dantas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Duarte Reis during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 44th minute Humberto Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rui Dantas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 47 minutes, Fernando Garcia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Bucaco's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernando Garcia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gabriel Vieira to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Humberto Azevedo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rui Dantas was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Humberto Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Dantas having to interfere. If Fernando Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernando Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Rui Dantas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 77 minutes, Rui Dantas successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Gabriel Vieira might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Artur Branco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gabriel Vieira ran back to his position shaking his head. Gabriel Vieira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 92 minutes into the match, SC Bucaco's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Vieira came free, but Artur Branco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Gabriel Vieira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Castanhos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gabriel Vieira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Artur Branco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
