When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Viriato Gomes took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Rafael Santos to make any attempt to save it. If Sérgio Assis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Viriato Gomes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Rafael Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th match minute, Macieira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando Borges to maneuver through the defense. 17 minutes into the match, Macieira's goalkeeper Rafael Santos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by David Luz. Poeira FC's Cristóvão Bessa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amadeu Carneiro in the 21st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Poeira FC's Xavier Aleixo got a free kick in the 21st minute. If Amadeu Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Viriato Gomes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Poeira FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Luz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Viriato Gomes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Rafael Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Viriato Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Santos having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Viriato Gomes was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Poeira FC's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Borges came free, but Cristóvão Bessa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rafael Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viriato Gomes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hugo Rocha hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Amadeu Carneiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristóvão Bessa was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. 64 minutes into the game, Poeira FC's Viriato Gomes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. If Viriato Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rafael Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Gomes in the 77th minute of play. In the 78th minute, Viriato Gomes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Poeira FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Amadeu Carneiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristóvão Bessa having to interfere. 85 minutes into the game, Alexandre Melo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Macieira's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Poeira FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Macieira's Alexandre Melo got a free kick in the 85th minute. The supporters of Poeira FC booed when Macieira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Borges didn't get a good kick on the ball. Viriato Gomes might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rafael Santos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Viriato Gomes ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Poeira FC had won after a very even match.
