Fábio Lopes's late challenge caught a Susao FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jorge Henriques got free with Filipe Cardoso in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Folhada FC's Filipe Cardoso got control of the ball when Jorge Henriques tried to sneak it across the goal line. 45 minutes into the match, Folhada FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Matos came free, but Filipe Cardoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marco Matos made a kick off. Fábio Lopes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Manuel Barbosa kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Armando Matos. That made the score 0-2 in the 92 minute of play. Susao FC's Armando Matos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save Susao FC from getting a goal against them. The Folhada FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Folhada FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
