When Constantim's Joaquim Mota in 10 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Américo Gaspar guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. A collision led to Constantim getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Rodrigo Assunção hit a great ball. After having played for 23 minutes, José Trindade managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Pomba's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Trindade was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 26th minute of the match Adolfo Teixeira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Francisco Fontes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Francisco Fontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Guarda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ricardo Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Américo Gaspar having to interfere. Joaquim Mota's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Américo Gaspar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. The supporters of Constantim booed when SC Pomba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gonçalo Borba didn't get a good kick on the ball. SC Pomba's Gonçalo Borba got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Francisco Fontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Guarda in the 43rd minute of play. Óscar Mendes charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Óscar Mendes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Constantim getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. After taking down the ball on SC Pomba's corner Jorge Borges fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Francisco Fontes quite easily take care of the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Américo Gaspar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquim Mota, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. After 76 played minutes SC Pomba got a freekick which was hit by Gonçalo Borba. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gonçalo Borba during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in SC Pomba's zone, Ricardo Ferreira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Américo Gaspar came out of the goal and Ricardo Ferreira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
