The SC Esmoriz fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. With 10 minutes on the clock, José Borges commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 10th minute of the game. One of Esgueira FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SC Esmoriz:s goal. Heitor Henriques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Catarino Luz in the 25th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Esgueira FC's zone, Pedro Moniz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Heitor Henriques came out of the goal and Pedro Moniz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 31 minutes into the game, SC Esmoriz's Catarino Luz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Heitor Henriques made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Heitor Henriques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Moniz in the 35th minute of the match. SC Esmoriz's Viriato Valente proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save SC Esmoriz from getting a goal against them. When Vasco Sousa came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Esgueira FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vasco Sousa couldn't finish the play. Catarino Luz struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Heitor Henriques didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Esmoriz. Alfredo Torres hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Heitor Henriques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Moniz, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Francisco Barros hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After 49 minutes SC Esmoriz's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Amadeu Paiva who took care of the corner kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pedro Moniz made a kick off. 60 minutes into the match, SC Esmoriz's goal looked a bit too open when Vasco Sousa came free, but Viriato Valente reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Vasco Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vasco Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viriato Valente having to interfere. 70 minutes into the game, Alfredo Torres was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Esgueira FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Esmoriz the free kick. The supporters of SC Esmoriz booed when Esgueira FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Pedro Moniz managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Esmoriz's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Moniz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Heitor Henriques breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulo Paiva during the 74th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SC Esmoriz had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
