The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. João Moutinho scored 0-1 in the 3rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Diamantino Fonseca, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Eusébio Setúbal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diogo Baptista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inácio Torres in the 15th minute of the match. After 17 minutes of play, SC Izeda's João Moutinho made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Diamantino Fonseca was left in no man's land by his defense there! João Moutinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Diamantino Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 26 minutes into the game, João Sousa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Pragal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Izeda the free kick. Eusébio Setúbal might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Diogo Baptista. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eusébio Setúbal ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inácio Torres in the 33rd minute of play forced SC Izeda's goalkeeper Diogo Baptista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Eusébio Setúbal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 36 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SC Izeda! The goalkeeper, Diogo Baptista, was totally fooled by SC Pragal's Gonçalo Moreira, who 38 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After 44 played minutes Gonçalo Moreira scored with a long sweeping shot just to the left of Diogo Baptista who was too lazy, 2-2. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Inácio Torres to make the kick off. Oliveira Leal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Diamantino Fonseca made a huge save. Diamantino Fonseca made an important save on a dangerous shot by João Moutinho in the 59th minute. In the 61st minute, one of SC Izeda:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SC Izeda. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Inácio Torres couldn't finish the play.
